Para Site

Para Site

  • 2004, acier galvanisé, moteur électrique, rallonge, ventouses, matériaux divers, 195 x 170 x 195 cm
  • Prototype : styromousse, 195 x 153 x 195 cm

A “concept car” which transposes the logic of efficiency that obtains in the world for cars, the Para Site (for the city) is totally dependent on its environment and on other vehicles. It has two modes of propulsion, both of which require negotiation: an electric extension cable to be plugged in at the homes of neighbours or in shops, and a sucker-based fixation system so that it can drawn by other cars.

Another scale 1 prototype has been built out of styrofoam. While this material (often used in the car industry) is normally shaped by computer generated tools, it was in this case entirely handmade with a cutter blade and sandpaper.
